I started photography in the spring of 2000 when I took a class at Austin Community College. I had since put this aside to follow a career in electrical engineering. After receiving an Associates Degree in Engineering Design Graphics from Austin Community College, I then applied and was accepted into the College of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
After a year went by I found myself very unhappy with this path in my life. When a friend asked me, If you could do anything you wanted to do in life that would give you happiness, what would it be? I responded without hesitation Photography!! Photography is my passion! It allows me to capture and reproduce the emotions that I feel when something in this world catches my eye.
I decided to change my major to a Bachelors of Science in Digital and Photographic Imaging at Texas State University at San Marcos.
What once was a hobby is now my chosen career.
I do both commercial work and fine art photography. Commercial work includes specialized photography, website design, brochures, etc. My passion, however, is with fine art photography. Merging fine art photography with commercial objectives is my ongoing interest.
My photographs include landscapes, still life, real life portraiture, and animals. My style leans toward using a shallow depth of field. What I enjoy the most is the wet process of development in developing black and white prints because I believe it is an art form that may soon be lost. I'm passionate about keeping this art alive as long as I can.
